New Learning Module - Completing the Square – An Algebra 2 exercise from Terry Gastauer.

Tips : These first 2 tips are used in the above learning module. (Nothing to do with completing the square :) )
Navigate to the link and then click on the + to open the GeoGebra InterActivity.
Select the checkbox “Show Areas”. Then, click and drag the sliders. Notice that the text stays at the midpoint of the sides/ center of the quadrilaterals.
Easy: Putting a text object at the midpoint of a dynamic line.
Your line “a” is dynamic (no matter whether animated or just click and drag vertices).
You want the text “text1” to always be at the midpoint.
Create your text. Now right-click on it and chose “Object properties” from the drop-down menu (at bottom).
Click on the Position tab. (Tabs are Basic, Text, Color, Position, Advanced)
Type in Midpoint[a] (Use [] - Midpoint is a GeoGebra command.) You can also use Midpoint[A,B], where A and B are points.
You can use the Select tool to position it around the midpoint (e.g. so that it is not on the line itself). GeoGebra will remember this.
Easy: Putting a text object in the center of a dynamic polygon.
Your polygon “poly1” is dynamic.
You want the text “text1” to always be centered.
Create your text. Now right-click on it and chose “Object properties” from the drop-down menu (at bottom).
Click on the Position tab.
Type in Centroid[poly1] (Use [] - Centroid is a GeoGebra command.)
You can use the Select tool to position it around the centroid (e.g. so that it is not on the grid). GeoGebra will remember this.

(BTW: This is a good tip for ANY text, not just LaTeX. GeoGebra likes text to end in text.)
Example: "a="+a+""
2. Easy: Put a box around your LaTeX formula 2010-03-24.ggb
Create a Latex formula (the \, are half-spaces – see the 2nd image below).
Carefully navigating the quotes, put the latex command \fbox{ } around your whole formula
3. Hard: Finally – if you like LaTeX and you are wanting to do something more with fractions than FractionText[], have a look at this ggb: fractions_display.ggb
